Hello all,

I'm not getting the froyo update...

I'm worried that my phone has some kind of weird ROM installed. I bought it in China and found out subsequently that it was (or is) branded to Vodafone Germany (according to HTC tech support). I am running a WIND SIM from Italy at the moment so it must have been debranded.

If they loaded a custom ROM or something maybe thats why the update server isn't recognizing my phone as eligible for update?

I'm new to this. I'm hoping that the froyo update will fix the wifi gone issue I picked up the last time I updated. What versions SHOULD I be on at this point in order to upgrade to froyo?

Can anyone make sense of my phone info here and suggest a solution?:

Firmware version: 2.1-update1
Baseband version: 47.26.35.04u_7.05.35.26L
Kernel version: 2.6.29-e3993620 htc-kernel@and18-2 #1
Build number: 2.06.709.3 CL193617 release-keys
Software number 2.06.709.3

Any help much appreciated

Hi

I'm not convinced doing a hard reset means the ROM or all aspects of the software are retured to the original state. I did a hard reset after I got the wi-fi issue and it didn't help. All it seemed to do was erase the data on the card, from what I could tell, the software version was still the same.

Maybe one of the more experienced members of this forum can advise?
